An awful Chinese meal
We've just come in from having supper at Tatyans, Cirencester, where we have had one of the worst Chinese meals ever. If we suggest going there, please suggest we go somewhere else!
They didn't get off to a good start by not having a record of our booking, but showed us to a table nevertheless (it was only 7pm) Our "hot starter platter" was served in an unappetising way, piled up on an ordinary plate with no care or attention. There was a greasy feel to all of it, and the spare ribs were lukewarm and dry. Our request for soy sauce for the spring rolls was not met - though we did find a puddle of Worcester sauce underneath them.
The Crispy Aromatic duck was served about five minutes after the pancakes, and although the plates had been hot when they were brought to us, they had no effect on the warm-ish food. Having said that, this was probably the best course. Our main course "sizzling prawns with spring onion and ginger" came several minutes after the rice had been cooling on our table, with tablespoonfuls already in the small dishes when they were served. The shredded beef in special sauce was greasy and oversweet - but by this time we were not expecting anything more.
With three chinese beers and a tonic water, the bill came to £70 - service included of course.
Don't think we'll go there again.
