First SERIOUS snow of the winter

We've now had the first serious snow of what everyone is telling us will be a hard winter. Not much by everyone else's standards - perhaps just five inches - but enough to cause 100 motorists to be stranded on the Stroud-Cirencester road last night. Luckily it fell after Gill drove off to her WI Chairman's meeting at Denman, and my only job today was to take Bettine shopping; which I re-arranged for tomorrow. So, nothing for it but to don warm clothing and wellies and get out there clearing the lane from the corner down to our drive. Oh, and take some photos, of course! Now for a good, piping hot bowl of homemade roast vegetable soup!
