Stroud Show

One of the WI entries for the Rose Bowl.

Today I was judging the WI class at Stroud Show. It was a glorious sunny day and through there were only three entries, they were all really good. I had a friendly steward, Jane, and we chatted our way through the process of judging the Victoria sandwich cake, the preserve, the knitted socks, the embroidery, craft and flower arranging! Oh, nearly forgot the cheese straws!

There were a few farm animals there this year. We watched the judging of the sheep and the bulls, all of whom were really hot and panting away in the bring sunshine but in beautiful condition. We hope to win the "name the cow" competition - after all, with no name signed beside Gillian, how could we walk on past?

The judge described this ewe as "perfect".
