News from Hull
Just to bring you up to date with news of Edna as I've seen her a few times in the last few days. She is progressing, slowly getting more strength in her right side and becoming more confident to stand and walk a little, with assistance. Her communication difficulties remain hugely frustrating for her, though I believe she is more aware of what's happening around her and is less confused. Her concentration is also improved but she tires easily and soon opts out of a conversation which doesn't directly involve her. Her memory is still patchy and she doesn't appear to remember friends she has seen recently or the names of the regular nurses caring for her, but she cheerfully sang along to Songs of Praise yesterday, remembering every word of one familiar hymn.
The therapists working with her are pleased with how she's doing and remain optimistic for further improvement, though clearly there is a long long way to go.
