Edward moves house

We paid a visit to Edward yesterday, with a car full of bits and pieces for his new home. He and Alex decided they'd had enough of the continual aggravations of Dorset Court and lured by a much shorter commute for Edward (and therefore an extra 30 mins of sleep each morning!) they found themselves a new place in N7 - Finsbury Park tube station nearby, but possibly in Highbury or Islington, depending on who is to be impressed. Council tax paid to Hackney (though across the road might be Islington or Haringey) which might add further to the confusion. Whilst we were in Boston last weekend, they found a man with a van to help them move house at some incredibly late hour of the night - a moonlight flit with a Polish angle ;-)

Suffice to say that this new conversion is very smart indeed and they have done well. We enjoy the prospect of seeing the garden develop, too. They have the ground floor and french doors onto a small grassy patch and patio which is ready for a little attention come the Spring.

We took two stops on the tube and Mark got to see St Pancras at last. He quite agreed that it's a triumph and was glad to see for himself. Lunch at Le Pain Quotidien was good, too.

We dropped Edward and Alex off at that Saturday afternoon haven of fun - IKEA - where they filled a bag or two with this and that and persuaded another man with a van to transport them and their purchases home. I think they are enjoying the benefits of the black economy!
